A Zaha Moment

Sunbeams glisten off of the six-story building tiled high with 16,000 aluminum hexagons. One of the most visited museums in the world marks the next stop on our World Tile Tour.

It’s none other than the Soumaya Museum in Mexico City, Mexico.

It’s none other than the Soumaya Museum in Mexico City, Mexico.

Famous for its 66,000 pieces of artwork spanning over the time of 30 centuries, the Soumaya Museum is the inspiration behind Tabarka Studio’s Zaha collection. Marked by nature’s perfect shape, hexagons serve as the framework for these tiles. The hexagons are paired with other simple geometric and floral shapes to create a mesmerizing effect. The marriage of timeless and modern make the Zaha collection one we don’t want to forget.
